Senior Volunteer Opportunities

Make Nauvoo Your Senior Adventure!

The Nauvoo Discovery Senior Volunteers

Volunteers Arlene & Kent Blatter

We have opportunities for Seniors who want to assist the Nauvoo Discovery Program and support the Young Single Adults who come to participate in the program. Come live in Nauvoo, experience Church History Sites, and be a guide to Young Single Adults from around the country. You might just love to join us!

As a Senior Volunteer, you will work closely with the NDP Administrative Team, and Young Single Adults (YSA) ages 18-35 who are attending the Nauvoo Discovery Program. In your individual and talented way, you can inspire, uplift, educate, enhance, and contribute in a significant way, to both the program participants, as well as to the Nauvoo community. You can also experience living in Beautiful Nauvoo which offers its very own unique experience. Volunteers will have specific stewardships and responsibilities based on their interests, abilities, and talents. These responsibilities may require vision, confidence, and compassion. You may also assist in planning, organization, clerical work, implementing and leading program events, filling a need as a student life coach, marketing to future program participants, and helping in other needed areas.

Once your application has been received, you will be interviewed by a member of the NDP Administrative Team. You are welcome to apply for more than one semester.

Low-cost housing is available. Apply and contact us for more details.

We thank you for considering volunteering for this new and exciting Nauvoo Discovery Program. Your contribution as a volunteer for the Nauvoo Discovery Program can make a lasting impact for good as you work with the NDP Administrative Team, Leadership Council members, and program participants, to guide, inspire, and build a vibrant and ongoing Nauvoo Discovery Program.

Note: Other NDP volunteers have found joy in serving in the Nauvoo Temple and the local ward while working with NDP.

“Offering unique experiences, the Nauvoo Discovery Program has provided the perfect foundation for our personal quest to learn more about Church history. From the moment of our arrival, we have felt a strong sense of community, purpose, and direction. We imagine that our pioneer ancestors who came to Nauvoo must have felt much the same way, as they were received by fellow saints. The program includes fun activities as well as educational and service opportunities, while focusing on fostering spiritual growth and strengthening testimonies. We’re grateful to be part of this program and love living in this sacred place. ."
