Why Nauvoo?

Nauvoo offers a peaceful, purpose-filled setting where young adults can step away from distractions and focus on growth, faith, and community—making it an ideal home for the Nauvoo Discovery Program.

Nauvoo

Nestled along the Mississippi River, Nauvoo is a small town with a big spirit. Its rich history, natural beauty, and slower pace of life create a unique environment that encourages reflection, learning, and meaningful connection. For YSAs, Nauvoo provides space to reset spiritually and emotionally while still offering engaging experiences through historic sites, outdoor recreation, and a close-knit community.

Nauvoo’s strong YSA branch and welcoming residents make it easy to build lasting friendships and feel at home quickly. The town’s walkable layout, safe atmosphere, and access to nature support healthy routines and intentional living. At the same time, nearby cities like Keokuk, Quincy, and Burlington offer opportunities for work, shopping, and weekend adventures.

As a campus for the Nauvoo Discovery Program, Nauvoo blends faith, history, work, and community in a way few places can. It’s a setting that supports missionary preparation, helps returned missionaries transition with confidence, and gives all participants the chance to grow with purpose—surrounded by beauty, belonging, and a sense of direction.
